Rwanda Aime Gahizi – Gitesi Washed

Gitesi Washing Station sits in Rwanda's Western Highlands, on the edge of Lake Kivu, where father-and-son team Alexis and Aimé Gahizi built the station in 2005. Around 1,800 smallholder farmers bring their cherries here each harvest, and the Gahizi family pays a performance dividend back to the community at the end of every season.

Almost all of the coffee grown here is Red Bourbon, hand-picked and washed the traditional way. Expect a delicate cup: honeysuckle, herbal tea and dried fruit, with the clarity washed Rwandan coffees are known for.
